Purchased from Kings Road Galleries, London on the 30th January 2004. A copy of the original invoice is available. Chang Cheng was a priest, and the Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Shanghai 's Aurora University. The Chinese artist Yin Xin learned to paint by copying political posters at the time of the Cultural Revolution. He went to study at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia, and later settled in Paris, reinterpreting works by the Old Masters
